Description

Large mask of a dark pink male face. Black eyebrows carved with diagonal grooves. Triangular eyes cut out. Thick nose and big thick diagonally v-grooved black moustache. Heavy forehead ridge and protruding chin. Plastic wire for hanging at back.

History Of Use

May have been used during marriage ceremonies.

Narrative

Was part of an exhibit at the UBC Art Gallery in 1973. Card says: "El novio - mascara useda el primer dia de la boda." Translation: "The groom: mask used on the first day of the wedding ceremony."
