Description

Globular blue earthenware tankard on flat base with pewter mount, fluted sides, short cylindrical neck, loop handle from neck to lower body. Pewter rim mount and domed lid hinged to handle top. White scale pattern over body, band of lace decoration at neck.

History Of Use

This tankard is decorated with the fish-scale design believed to have been derived from early sixteenth century Turkish Ottoman art.
