Description

A basketry bag with a x-shaped weave pattern and two beige handles on the sides woven in a lace-like pattern. The basket flares at an upward angle at the ends. There are five horizontal rows of alternating light brown and orange around the top and the bottom of the basket. Around the middle there is a horizontal band of light brown outlined in black, with a black and orange pattern within.

Narrative

The donor's family lived in Kamloops from 1907-1909, then Duncan from 1909-1920, at which point they moved to Vancouver. She said the family traded old clothes for baskets.
