Description

Brown earthenware inkwell (parts a-c) shaped as a monk with hands folded in prayer. Lower part (part a), waist to feet, has perforated disk at top; central section (part b) is upper torso with brown cloak outspread; top section is head (part c), with the neck functioning as a stopper.

History Of Use

This inkwell, modelled in the form of a monk, comprises three separate parts. The bottom part forms the pounce shaker, the cloak is the inkwell, and the head is the stopper.
