Basketry Awl Item Number: Nd712 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

One end of the bone has eight nodules carved on the end. From this end, the bone has been carved along the length so that the bone narrows down to a dull point at the opposite end. Lengthwise on one side is a natural groove, 7 cm long, originating from the nodules. Lengthwise on the other side beginning 4.5 cm from the nodules the bone has roughly been broken away, exposing the inner cavity of the bone.
