Description

Wild cat mask painted yellow with black spots. Four sharp canine fang teeth inset and painted with white enamel paint. Ears carved laid back. Oval eyes cut out with pupils remaining. Large, open wide mouth. Wire at back for hanging.

History Of Use

Tiger mask used in the dances of the tlacololeros and tecuanes.

Narrative

Was part of an exhibit at the U.B.C. Art Gallery in 1973.
