Spindle Item Number: Sf1145 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Wooden spindle with partially spun off natural coloured wool. Stick is tapered at both ends with a concave disc near one end. The wool has dark coloured debris intermixed.
Used as a drop spindle for spinning wool. Fleece is held in one handand the freely hanging spindle is rotated by the other.
Bought from a Chinchero woman on a street in Cuzco on May 6, 1982.
