Seven twisted and knotted pieces of dark brown wool. Each hair tie is composed of three segments of wool that have been knotted together at one end.

History Of Use

Used to end braids. Kalash women wear five or seven braids stiffened by sap or pitch called "oshichin". Only during mourning do Kalash women publicly appear with their hair unbraided.
