Description

Woven fabric sewn into a skirt-like tube. All-over geometric pattern with diamond-shaped motifs in red, green, blue and yellow-brown on a black ground. Slim bands of red at both ends with an additional thick band of orange material sewn onto one end.

Specific Techniques

Fabric woven from dyed and resist-dyed weft threads (weft ikat). The fabric has been woven in a weft-faced twill weave in a Z-direction. One set of selvedge edges have been hemmed at the edge with machine-sewing. The opposite selvedge edge has been machine-sewn to a width of cotton fabric; the cotton has a machine-sewn hem. The warp ends have been hand-stitched together to create a tube.
