Point, Chipped Stone Item Number: 45GR73/2004-63/5 from the The Burke: University of Washington

Description

Point is made out of chert and is bifacially flaked. Original bag stated: "found on surface, on sandy moist soil along bank of river (Columbia)," "Crescent Bar at Cordes Junction," "Eastern Wash.," and "7/4/61." (S. Iles, 4/20/2004) Robert Greengo identified that "Cordiss Junction is (was) probably a point on the Burlington Northern railroad that runs from Wenatchee to the east, very near Crescent Bar and Trinidad," WA. Fitzgerald identified this material as orginating from the Cordiss Junction general vacinity, however, based on the site number, this material does not appear to be from the Cordiss Junction area. The material appears to be from an area several miles south of Cordiss Junction. (S. Iles 5/18/04)
