Description
Petroglyph rubbing on webril with green and blue ink. From "Descriptive Catalogue of Petroglyph Prints for the University of Washington, from The Dalles Dam Reservoir, 1956." by Mark Hedden, located in the Archaeology Archives: "Large monster with round head & body forming a roughly dumbell shape. (Note M.W. Smith's report on the occurence of dumbell shaped 'Little Doctor' figures in the Puget Sound Region.) Of the face features only the mouth shows clearly as a wide leer. The right eye can be seen as a centered circle. Two 'pitcher' ears show on either side. The body is cut by a center vertical and a series of zigzags (rib pattern?) running across. No hands or other appendages are apparent. At the upper end of a series of notches along the right edge of ther rock, two eyes, as vertically orented, concentric & rounded lozenges, appear. No other features are associated. Adjacent to the dumbbell figure is a small, roughly diamond shaped head, with rays from upper two sides, and a short, wavy (snake?) tail from the base. No features can be made out in the head itself."
