Description

Round-bottomed jar with straight sides and tall, flared neck; handle goes from shoulder to lip. Decoration is an incised band around shoulder with fill of thin, incised, diagonal lines. Remnants of glaze on surface.

History Of Use

Jug (kôkôré) used by women to fetch and pour water. The lack of geometric designs confirms the basic function of this jug.
