Bowl Item Number: Nb3.1487 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Small wooden bowl painted with designs on four sides, made from five pieces of wood. The bottom is flat; the ends and sides are slightly convex. Designs painted all the way around the outside in black, red, red-brown, blue on a cream-coloured background; red borders at rim and base.

Narrative

A note inside the box said "St. Louis World Fair. 1904 Harris" (Richardson, the collector, also referenced "Native American Heritage page 23" in connection to this.) However, since then, several experts have looked at the bowl and said it is not the work of that Bob Harris (Xi'xa'niyus), so the attribution has been removed (2013). "IN-108-67" written on inside.
