Description

Adire (indigo dyed) cloth. Composed of two panels, each made from squares with resist-dyed indigo designs. The designs are composed mainly of light blue bands composed of short lines and small circles with a band of small circles at two opposing edges. Small bits of palm leaf raffia are still found stitched along the pattern lines.

History Of Use

Etù (high blue on a dark indigo background) cloth is worn as part of many traditional ceremonies and functions.
