Description

Circular drum with wooden frame. Skin attached to frame by thonging threaded through holes around outer edge. Six tension bands inside, all attached to small central block of wood. Painting of dogfish in centre. Part b is a drumstick: handle tapering toward padded head which is held in place by a leather thong wound around it.

Narrative

Art Thompson painted the image on the drum but didn't make the drum; the maker of the drum itself is unknown.
