Description

Woven basketry ear pendants with a metal ear hook attached at top. Bottom of earrings (1.2 cm) made of woven vertical grass strips of alternate colours of brown and light brown. Above grasses are pieces of light brown leather. At top of leather is a small loop of black and white beads. The beads are attached to a small piece of leather which is pierced by the metal hooks.

Narrative

Hawthorn indicated that the earrings were purchased by Tamaradze in California, and given by her to Hawthorn in 1989.
