Description

Boy's red, square shaped shawl made of two lengths of fabric, stitched with orange and blue thread. The textile is decorated with multi-coloured vertical stripes and fringe on one end. The stripes are blue, black, pink, orange, yellow and white on a red ground.

Narrative

Don Jose Garcia Martin and his wife Francisca Diaz Godinez organized the production of the clothing from San Juan Atitan in this collection (accession 2551). They apportioned the work among family members and others known for their skills in the community.
