Broken half-gourd filled with tree cotton.

History Of Use

Container for the cotton used with blowgun darts.Used by hunting men only. The darts are poisoned in the secretions of the tree frog. After, the tree cotton is wrapped around one end of the dart to seal the canal so that the dart can be ejected from the blowgun by sharp blowing.

Specific Techniques

The tree cotton is retrieved from the pods of a palm tree.
