Description

Square shaped, black skirt made of two panels sewn together in the middle. The design consists of three sets of two dark blue horizontal lines. Along the top and bottom edge is a pink and turquoise stripe. There is a vertical seam stitched with black thread to make the fabric into a tube-like shape.

Narrative

Don Jose Garcia Martin and his wife Francisca Diaz Godinez organized the production of the clothing from San Juan Atitan in this collection (accession 2551). They apportioned the work among family members and others known for their skills in the community.
