Longer Description

Dark horn spoon with pointed handle. The spoon is likely made from a single piece of mountain goat horn given the dark colour. The bowl and handle are both smooth. One side of the bowl is irregular, with a slight upward bend. The grain of the horn is visible in the bowl, particularly on its reverse. At its widest, the bowl measures 69 mm, and at the tip measures 6 mm. Where the bowl joins the handle there is a carved curved ridge. The handle is 15 mm wide where it joins the bowl. The handle is straight and tapers toward the end. On the reverse of the handle, near the tip, is a small incised mark. The tip of the handle measures 2 mm. [CAK 06/04/2009]
