The blade is roughly rectangluar is shape and has a series of forward-pointing teeth cut into one edge. The other edge has been inserted into a slot in the handle, and is held in place with three iron rivets. The handle is curved at the grip and straight where the blade is attached. Shallow notches in the saw blades were made by striking the edge with the thicker blade of a knife.
