Fragment: Headdress Item Number: A3633 b-c from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Two pieces of painted cotton (parts b and c) that used to be attached to the wooden bird headdress (part a). Part b has red and black Northwest Coast style designs, including a face, painted on it. Part c has Northwest Coast style feathers painted in black and a scalloped, feather-like edge along one side.

Iconographic Meaning

Crane and hawk headdress.
