Description

The brown wood mask (part a) is a concavely curved elongated oval which tapers to a point at both the top and bottom. At the centre of the mask, there is carved a small round face with a forehead painted black, circular pupils cut out of the oval eyes, two small cut out nostrils, and an open cut out downward turned red mouth. Each pointed end of the mask is painted black, and there are black semi-triangles along the four sides of the central round face. There is a black-painted fin-like protrusion on each side of the top point of the mask, and a wood protrusion connected to each side of the bottom point of the mask with a metal wire. Many pegs (parts b-y) are inserted along the sides of the mask. The mask is connected to two curved wood sticks surrounding the mask in an oval formation by skin and fibre bands.
