The words, "BRITISH COLUMBIA," are above the image, "SHUSWAP DOLLAR" and "CURRENCY VALUE $1.00 EXPIRES July 31, 1978," are below, "1978" is to the left and "Ernie Philip" is to the right. Other side has a central bust of a man wearing a headband with a feather in it. The dates, "1828" and "1915," are in raised lettering on either side of the head and name, "CHE LOUIS" is below bust (a Shuswap chief).
