History Of Use

Saami always wear a belt, at or near the waist, with the tunic bloused above it. This forms a pouch where small items are carried. Women's belts are hand-made of bright folk weave or are appliqued in bright designs, and are used to hold a needle case and other items for sewing.

Narrative

Collected from Mrs. Siegrid Johanson-Labba by Wilhelm Helmer, along with 737/2. 737/3 and 737/4. These items were probably worn together.
