Description

Undecorated mask-like carving with recessed eye sockets and large, protruding nose. The grain of the wood runs parallel to the plane of the face and so is highly visible. The back side of the mask has two nails with cord strung between them.

Narrative

The mask was given in memory of Pat Robinson, a respected member of Highlands United Church, who Pat bequethed the mask to. Pat was of Cree Metis heritage. Her mother, Dr. Anne-Irvine was a distinguished Cree-Metis educator and linguist.
