AMEC Analysis: Part: Other Paste: Earthenware, white Comments: Appears to be some type of hardware implement. Two white earthenware tile fragments, possibly from the same tile although they do not cross mend. One side of each fragment is glazed and smooth, the other unglazed and molded. Probably made by American Encaustic Tile Company who are known for decorative tiles but also a producer of fixtures and white tile (info and dates from http://www.kovels.com/priceguide/kovels_americanencaustictilingco/). Larger fragment labeled 45KI765/P30-3a, smaller fragment labeled 45KI765/P30-3b. Glaze crazing on smaller fragment. 2/8/2010 L. Penttila
