Drawing Item Number: 2811/27 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Children's drawing on legal size off-white paper. A diagonal blue band runs across the upper right-hand of the composition, representing the Rio Lempa River. The words "El Salvador" have been written in pencil above the river, and the word "Honduras" has been written below the river. On the El Salvador side, there is a red-and-blue helicopter and five human figures. Four of these figures have orange clothing, but one figure has green clothing and a gun. A red line emanates from one of these figures dressed in orange, and the line stretches across the river. On the Honduras side, two figures dressed in orange approach the river on a short path, carrying objects on their heads. On the far right of the picture, where the river ends, a single figure stands beneath a tree. Four bodies are also floating in the river.
