Bag Item Number: 2813/62 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Tightly woven oblong bag gathered and tied at the top with a braided rope. The base colour is the natural dark yellow-white of the cabuya fibre. The bag displays a design of vertical columns of colour with horizontal arms coming out from each side of the columns in a stripe pattern. Three horizontal rows of colour (black, dark yellow, and pink) encircle the opening of the bag. The rim is edged with braided cabuya fibre rope with loops. The loops were added to hold the multicoloured, partially twisted and partially braided strap.
