Drawing Item Number: 2811/11 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Laminated children's drawing consisting of a piece of beige legal paper mounted on a piece of blue construction paper. At the top of the composition an inscription in blue ink reads "Caza Rodiada de Soldados". Below this text, two human figures outlined in green are facing and pointing black guns at each other. A blue and red church with a green cross has been drawn below these human figures. There are three large flowers below the church with green leaves and stems, and they are coloured - from left to right - red, mauve, and orange. The words "Maribel Ayala" have been written in blue ink in the lower left-hand corner. A narrow strip of word-processed text has been taped to the front, at the bottom of the page, and it reads "The soldiers came and killed our families in El Salvador".
