Description

Carved wooden drum figure. Large eyes and a mouth with teeth are carved into the face. The figure has a protruding nose and large protruding ears and wears a tall wedge-shaped hat with side brims. Below the angular jaw is a long straight neck that leads down to the drum. The drum is long and cylindrical with a long, vertical, rectangular slit cut out of the centre front. The inside of the drum has been carved out, leaving the drum walls relatively thin. On the base are three round-headed nails. Around the figure’s neck is a rope of twisted fibre, knotted closed.
