Description

Standing, carved wood ancestor figure. Figure wears a close fitting cap, with hair carved in a cross hatched pattern beneath. The face is narrow at the forehead and widens at the cheeks, with a small chin, large carved eyes, and protruding nose and ears with bored nostril and ear holes. Three vertical lines are carved into the cheeks below the eyes. The torso is long with a stomach that protrudes in the front. Arms are bent and hands are attached to the body above the waist. The left hand is carved with five fingers and the right with six. The buttocks are pronounced, legs are bent in a crouching position, and feet are large with five carved toes each. Two holes are bored into the groin area. A round headed nail is embedded in the bottom of the right foot.
