Description

Folding fan with thirty-three inner ribs of split bamboo and two bamboo parent ribs. Covered on both sides with white paper printed on one side with dark blue band at upper edge, painted with leaves and flowers in light and dark red, light blue, and grey. Rivet of light yellow plastic, through which is threaded a cord of white silk 14cm. long (double) on which is threaded an imitation pearl.

History Of Use

Summer fan, round or folding, can be carried throughout summer by both men and women. The folding fan is seen more often at the theatre or on the street because it can be tucked into the kimono or the obi more easily.
