Description
Model winnowing tray. Tray is upturned at one end and flattens at the other. There is a thick band of pink coloured bamboo that lines the perimeter of the piece, inside and out. There are line designs painted on the interior with pink dye.
History Of Use
Winnowing rice (to clean food grains); models are sometimes used as toys to teach children how to use them (collector's notes).
