Description

Horizontally rectangular stonecut and stencil print that covers most of the white paper. The central scene is of two standing figures in profile wearing Inuit clothing, facing each other holding two drums– the top drum is yellow outlined in grey and the bottom is slightly oblong with the image of two faces in profile facing outwards inside the circle. One standing figure holds both drum handles. An arched pattern of dog or wolf heads in profile with open jaws frame the central scene. Hooded human heads in profile form an outer arch around them, with a top centre head facing forward. Background colour of arches, from outside to inside, are: dark blue, brown, light blue, red. There is a red and yellow flame like pattern between the drummers, with a blue background at the bottom. Inscription in pencil along bottom of image, with the yellow Baker Lake 'bow and arrow' printing symbol, followed by Inuit syllabics and a blind embossed stamp. Edition number 30/40.
