Figure Item Number: 2827/29 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

A cast bronze figure of a mouflon (wild sheep). The figure has a hole in the middle of its body, which suggests that it may have been the end piece for a horse bit on a harness. Drilling or scoring in the original wax model was used to define the eyes, while incision was used to form the mouth and nostrils. The two curved horns contain lines that give the realistic appearance of twisting. The figure is hollow on the reverse.
