Hair Ornament Item Number: Edz1699 a-b from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Two ornaments that are made of red and clear cut circular glass (?) pieces attached with metal and each with a thin flat rod that has a point at the bottom end. Part a: from the top hook, there is a cluster of two red pieces, one at either side, surrounded by three clear pieces with another clear piece at the top in between, and below this cluster, there are five radiating sets made out of twenty-five clear pieces. Part b: from the top hook, there is a cluster of of two red pieces, one at either side, surrounded by three clear pieces with another clear piece at the top in between, and below this cluster, there are five radiating sets made out of twenty-four clear pieces with one red piece at the bottom centre while above this cluster, there dangles an equilateral triangle made out of six clear pieces with three sets of three clear pieces dangling from it. Chinese opera hair ornaments most likely from the 1920's.
