Description

Silkscreen print of stylized Haida beaver. Bilaterally symmetrical frontal sitting beaver has red and black interior designs; bent forepaws grasp black bar with three vertical red lines; frontal human at base of tail between hind paws. Head: u shaped ears have interior split u; below ears, eyes with crescent-like forms in ovoid pupils, pointed eyelid lines; two u forms on cheeks; large rounded fleur-de-lis like nose is joined to lip band and surmounted by three stacked frontal human faces; prominent front teeth extend over lower lip band, two upper and lower teeth to either side, all teeth have u form decoration. Body: circular shoulder joints have circular salmon-trout heads; ovoid hip joints have ovoid salmon-trout heads; fore and hind paws have four articulated phalanxes; circle and crescent designs inside knee and elbow joints. Tail: frontal sitting human has curvilinear arms and legs at sides, outward facing palms; oval body has s curve ribs and a circle in lower abdomen; large round head surmounted by four u forms, one is crosshatched.
