Description

A rectangular off-white textile piece with wide bands of embroidery at one end covering about half the length. Multi-coloured geometric designs worked in counted thread technique. The main design is consisting of a central wide band of diamond shapes bordered by red while having an orange dot outlined with a green diamond shape within each inner corner surrounding an orange and yellow radiating centre. Filling in the space at either sides of these diamond shapes bordered by red, there are diamond shapes surrounded by red L-shaped protrusions in various directions while having a pair of orange and a pair of yellow cross shapes in a black diamond shape within each inner corner separated by sections of green surrounding a double black cross shape with a yellow centre on an orange-red background. From the side points of the diamond shapes bordered by red, emanate two lines of yellow, green, orange, and orange-red cross shapes outlined by black. This central wide band has a thinner band at each side consisting of one-quarter of the design of the central wide band and separated from it by three double black cross shapes with a coloured centre. Selvages on both sides. Ends are unfinished.
