Description

A hollow, brown trumpet-like horn, sometimes called a whistle. Circular in cross-section with a tapering section that flares outward to the larger end. Bound with bark near the middle. (No additional air vent.)

History Of Use

Kwiwilxaxa whistle, for various dances (not Hamatsa).

Narrative

Identified as Tlha'sala horn by Holm, 1972, p. 32; and as Tlha'sala whistle by Boas, 1895. Fig. 196.
