Probably backstrap loomed warp faced plain weave ground fabric. Warp: 2 singles (s-plied); weft: 3 singles (s-plied). Woven with bands of edge-to-edge geometric patterning throughout, most in continuous two-faced supplementary weft patterning over 1 to 3 warps. Supplementary weft: three 2-ply (each s-plied). Some bands feature weft-faced weave patterning. Hand-stitched front and back centre seams, head-hole created by break in stitching. Side seams have been stitched closed with hand-stitching. One lower edge of the huipil features warp-end selvedge edges, the other has been hemmed with hand-stitching.
