Description

Blue half-length jacket in a kimono-like style with floral motifs. The neck and centre opening are edged with a thick blue band. The sleeves are long and the ends are edged with a thick blue band. The front, back and sleeves have floral and leaf motifs in orange, purple, green and white. The inside is unlined.

History Of Use

This piece is made in the style of hanjuban (kimono underwear), but was likely made as a souvenir jacket for foreign tourists. It is not in any of the traditional kimono or kimono jacket styles.
