Rattle Item Number: K4.141 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
A metal rattle with seven cone-shaped pieces at one end, and a thin rectangular handle. There are six cones surrounding a larger cone, each with a clapper, radiating out in a partial circle from the end of the handle.
Similar to rattles used in Umbanda and Candomblé. The Angola form of Candomblé combines Yoruba influences with Bantu religious precepts, namely the belief in Zumbi as a supreme God; whereas the Ketu and Nagô Candomblé forms are closer to Yoruba traditions.
