Description

Multicoloured damask skirt (part a-b) with pleats. Across the top is a wide, orange cotton waistband with three frog closures. A flat orange tie is attached to a blue loop on the waistband. The multicoloured damask panels are woven with Buddhist and Taoist symbols of good fortune. Hanging from the waistband are four long panels, each with three tassels on the pointed ends. Hanging lower on the skirt are eight small panels, with a single tassel on the pointed ends. The border around the edges is cream with a dark blue band and multicoloured pictures surrounded with gold couching. On the rectangular front panel is a figure in a garden on cream ground. The inside is lined with blue silk.
