Robe Item Number: Edz1513 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Short purple damask robe with Mandarin collar, wide sleeves, side slits and side opening with fasteners. The damask is woven with Taoist symbols of good fortune. In the front and back centre is a golden bird (golden pheasant?), denoting a civil rank. The collar and border bands are cream with multicoloured scenes surrounded by gold couching and edged with a wide floral trim. The sleeve bands are cream with embroidered figures in a garden on the backside. The inside is unlined.
