Description

Figure depicting the tree of Osiris, which consists of a slight foot, a slightly tapering shaft with four indented horizontal bands out of which emerge four raised rows representing palm branches followed by a slightly narrower raised band and a rounded tip. There is a vertical rectangular support on the reverse that angles forward at the top and is pierced with a hole that runs side to side near the top.

History Of Use

Probably an amulet.

The tree of Osiris was an emblem of stability - one of the sacred emblems.
