History Of Use

Wooden miniatures (K4.324-29) showing masks of the male initiation ceremonies – called the mukanda. K4.324 is Cacuni-Catuta, K4.325 Chibrambialo, K4.326 Chicunza, K4.327 Sacalumbo, K4.328 Catelenga, and K4.329 Liango. Each mask represents an ancestor, as well as specific values, skills, and knowledge.
