Description

Over-dress in two pieces joined by black embroidery. Black, plain weave with wide bands at ends, in dark red, white, and black, with three rows of animal motifs. Two thinner multi-coloured bands of stripes are between. Half of outer border is yellow with white, pink and black dots, other half is orange with white, black and dark red dots.

Worn by women; fiesta costume.

Narrative

Worn over the almilla, with the stripes horizontal. It is wrapped about three-quarters of the way around the body and belted where the two loom panels are sewn together. The bodice half is folded horizontally with the design panel on the outside, passing under one arm and being fastened with a pin or jewelry over the other shoulder.
