Halibut Hook Item Number: A1103 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Spruce root hook, carved and steamed into a "u"-shape until the two arms come together. There is a knob carved on one arm end and leader line attached. The other arm end is fixed with a wooden point set at an acute angle to the arm and lashed with braided rope.

This hook was probably used for halibut.
