Splitting Dzunuk'wa Mask Item Number: A6337 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Dzunuk'wa mask. Made in three pieces: forehead to mid-eye, mid-eye to below the nose, below the nose to chin. The pieces are moveable using cords that run through each piece and sheets of copper are visible behind the gaps between the pieces when they are opened. Eyebrows and neck of hide. Round eyes and pursed lips. the mask is painted black with red eye rims, nostrils and lips.
Represents a splitting Dzunuk'wa (wild woman of the woods).
